Melbourne (online) 2021
Initially planned for Melbourne, but delayed due to the covid pandemic, Epigenetics 2021 became our first virtual meeting. The local organising committee, led by Nir Eynon (Victoria University) rose to the many challenges of hosting the meeting online, and it was a great success, with over 250 attendees.
The online platform even enabled social interaction during the meeting. As one attendee commented, “The presentations were amazing. Having gather as a tool for a virtual meeting really helped build an engaging atmosphere. It was the first time I have ever been able to actually meet people at an online conference”.
The keynote speakers that year were Steve Horvath (UCLA), Liran Carmel (Hebrew University of Jerusalem) and Wolf Reik (Babraham Institute, UK), who joined us online. Check out our slideshow of images and Tweets!
Jeff Craig reports, "This meeting was impeccably organised with a great speaker line-up, and provided an ideal escape from COVID. My one regret is that I couldn’t the make the live dinner in Melbourne”.
